Mrs G purchased her home in mid 2002. She submitted a claim to her Insurers in May 2003, following sewage overflowing from a manhole on her property.
Mrs G's Insurers appointed Loss Adjusters who, without even visiting the property rejected Mrs G's claim and advised her that the damage to her drain must have occurred prior to her purchasing the property.
Mrs G appointed Insco, who arranged for a CCTV survey of the drains to establish the nature and extent of damage.
Insco also contacted the Loss Adjusters and were eventually able to overturn the Loss Adjuster's initial decision.
Drain repairs were undertaken and Mrs G's Insurers settled the matter in excess of £15,000.
If Mrs G had accepted the Loss Adjuster's initial advices to her, and had she not contacted Insco to help her with her claim, she would have been left to settle the costs herself.
